Janet “Marie” (Johns) Fisher of Exeter passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, December 15, 2017 at the age of 76. Born February 26, 1941, daughter of Clarence and Beatrice (Biggs) Johns. Beloved wife of the late Ben Fisher (2006), dearly loved mother of Randy (Janice) Fisher of Talbotville and Cindy (Tom Bailey) Fisher Bailey of Lucan. Cherished Grandmother of Ryan (Brittany) Cousineau, Graham, Marcus, and Chloe Cousineau, Thomas (Kristin) Fisher, Adam (Jacky) Fisher and Meredith Fisher, Nathan and Cameron Bailey, Great Grandmother to Bennett Fisher, Lucas Cousineau and Blair Brindley. Survived by sister Marj (Howard) Hodge and sister-in-laws Ev (late Gord) Johns, Ferrol (late Amos) Warwick, Iva (late Bob) Blair, Marilyn (late Bud Fisher) Denstedt. Predeceased by siblings and their spouses Norm (Jean) Johns, Kay (Ford) Stark, and in-laws Belva (Harold) Rowe, Glenn (Mary) Fisher. Aunt Marie will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Marie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cheering them on at hockey, outings with friends and the brunch bunch, throwing peanuts to celebrate, and her well known “YAHOO!”
A celebration of Marie’s life will be held at the Exeter Legion – Branch #167, 316 William Street, Exeter on Saturday, December 23rd from 1:00- 2:30 PM, with Words of Remembrance held at 3:00 PM. Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220) entrusted with arrangements. Cremation with a private interment at Exeter Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, South Huron Hospital, and for Marie’s love of children and McDonalds, the Ronald McDonald House, would be appreciated by the family.
