Dear Mary Jo, James and families:
Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad. Such a shock so close to losing your mom. It must be an immense comfort to you all to know he is in heaven rejoicing with Janny and your sister, Janice. What a reunion that was!
You are in our thoughts and daily prayers and may you receive strength and support from each other, family, friends, and most importantly, our saviour, Jesus, in the coming months.
Love, Jurian and Afina Korpershoek-Hoeijenbos

Diana, Jim and Mary-Jo,
We are sorry to hear of the loss of your father. A few months after passing your mother. We have good memories. Several times your parents visited Holland, even our places Nieuwe-Tonge and Achthuizen. In 2004 we met uncle Piet for the last time. That was on uncle’s Cor birthday (80). Some of you were there too. It was a pleasure to meet you. Our father died in the same year and quite recently uncle Cor. Unfortunately, times are changing. We know the empty feeling of having no parents.
Sincerely,
Atie van Strien

So sorry I am not able to be there today. I have many wonderful memories of Opa.
I am so happy I have had the chance to visit with him a couple of times in the past year and that he was able to meet my children, which was really special.
Thinking of everyone today. I wish I could be there with you.

Perhaps my oldest memory of Opa was of him teaching me to play chess one summer during a visit to Ontario. I was a hyper child who never sat still. But his kind, gentle manner of speaking and easy humour could put anyone at ease and must have worked on me because I play chess to this day decades later. Love you Opa, you’ll be missed.
