Sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I remember your parents and envied your luck to live on a street named for your family. And Shep was a real neighbourhood dog. Best wishes

To the Stanley Family,
My name is Marlene Thornton ne Butler. I grew up in Lucan and I would like to say that my Mom, Doris butler, and Lois were good friends and she was always such a kind lady and I remember her well. I think she used to work at the Radcliffe Drugstore in Lucan ( I may be wrong) with my Mom. I would like to say that it was with sorrow that I learned of her passing. My Mom passed away in 1983, at the age of 55 and as I have lived in Exeter for 44 years, I have lost touch with Lois. My sincere condolences on the loss of such a kind and loving lady.

Lynn, Anne and Michael,
My memories of your mother are from my childhood, when the entire Stanley clan would meet in Lucan once a year for a family reunion, quite often organized by your Mom and Dad. It was a highlight of the summer and always lots of fun, also lots of work for your parents ????. Our fathers had the same first and last names, Clare Stanley. Your mother always sent a lovely note to my mother at Christmas, the last one being received at Christmas 2017. She was a wonderful lady, gracious, giving and with a great sense of humour. I send my condolences to you and to Lois’ grandchildren.

For personal reasons, I am unable to attend the funeral services for your mother, but I would like to offer my condolences of sympathy to you all. If I could talk to Lois one more time I would say “Thank you for all the kindness you showed to me. Thank you for all the delicious meals you served me. Thank you for so graciously welcoming me into your home. Thank you for providing a warm place to sleep for the many impromptu sleepovers Lynn and I concocted. Thank you for your wise words, your unlimited patience, and your unconditional love.” To the Stanley Clan, I pray for the Lord to encircle you with His peace and comfort during this time of mourning. And rest in the assurance that your Mom is lovingly in the hands of the Father. What better hands can she be in? Thoughts and prayers going to you all from Nancy Dickenson
