Dear Young/McRoberts family
We learned of Marguerite’s death at the funeral today for my Aunt, Evelyn Caslick, coincidentally at the same time as the service for Marguerite. The pictures brought back fond memories if times spent with the Youngs and McRoberts and the time Ross and Marguerite offered my wife and I refuge from a raging snow storm on our journey from London to Wingham at least 50 years ago. Our sympathy on the loss of a wonderful woman who was a great friend and cousin to my mother Mary.

We are never ready to lose loved members of our community and especially pillars like Marguerite.
I remember walking to the old high school with Marg after noon break. She was part of the Young sisters trio who sang at functions in the community and active in community and church choirs.
Then she became one of the hockey wives who supported the Irish Six. – and Irish Nine.
Working with Marg as a founding member of the Lucan Area Heritage was a pleasure.
Marg taught my children at Lucan Public School many years ago. She will be dearly missed in our community but we are thankful to have known her for so many years.
My deepest sympathy to all her loved ones.

Dear Tami, Terri and families. Our sincere sympathy to all of you at this sad time. I have many good memories of Marguerite during the years I taught with her at Lucan. She always seemed to take everything in stride with a ready smile and a cheerful word. She has given so much to the Lucan community over the years through her generosiy, kindness and interests. This past year I had several little visits with Marguerite at Chartwell Nursing home in Parkhill where she was still spreading her own special sunshine. A very lovely lady.

Tami, Terri,
Looking through the posted pictures brings back so many memories of growing up and the weekend card games
It was just a given that our folks would be around the one of our kitchen tables playing euchre most weekends, slamming down the high bower or claps of joy when one of them sneaked through getting three tricks with suit and a 10 !!
They were fun times and a group of friends who knew how to enjoy themselves,
Marg and Mom maybe even getting a lunch ready right now for the gang.
Take joy in the memories.
Always Tim

Please accept our sincere sympathy during this difficult time. Your mother played an important role in so many lives. She was always ready and willing to help wherever she could. When I was at Teacher’s College I had the wonderful opportunity to learn under Margeurite’s guidance in her rural school with grades 1 – 8. Later she became my colleague and my children’s grade 1 teacher. Wonderful memories.
Nancy Young
Aunt Marg was always ready to help. She gave from the heart every day of her life. She was a pillar of the community and dearly loved by all who knew her.
I have fond memories of hot afternoons making blanket forts in the porch, playing in the front yard under the shade of the tree, enjoying her fabulous baking including strawberry-rhubarb pie, and wonderful conversations. Her home was always warm and welcoming.
Aunt Marg had endless devotion to family, church and community. I am so grateful for the time she shared with me, and while I am deeply saddened by her passing, I take comfort knowing she is at peace.

Where do I start to sing her praises??? Marguerite mentored me throughout my teacher’s college year, as I spent one day each week in her classroom. What a valuable experience. When I came to teach in Lucan, Marguerite volunteered in my classroom. She never stopped giving and caring for which she will always be remembered.

Tami, Terri, and Families;
Sending our sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. I remember her being my Grade 1 teacher and I thought it was super ‘cool’ to have a teacher live right beside my Aunt Alice. She would be the ‘dentist’ for the day and take out any teeth that we had loose, all us kids in class tried to wait until school for this to happen as it was better than our parents taking them out. When my dad and mom went out to Alberta one year, Mrs. McRoberts picked me up and took me to school each day – I will never forget that. She was always so nice to chat with when we saw her at the United Church as well.
Cherish all the memories……

Dear Tami and Terri and families;
Please accept our very deepest sympathy. Marguerite was a treasure for sure. I enjoyed the 6 years I worked with her in Lucan as a fellow teacher and the many years of get togethers and reunions we had from that time on. I would also see her at joint church services and she always had that ready smile and her questions about how all the family was doing. Marg put a smile on life. Whenever she was around, the room seemed to light up. We had many a good chats about past students, futures of our students, life in Lucan generally, as well as political events. I was blessed to have been able to learn from her and to work with her. I have missed her over the last couple of years and cherish my memories. I know this time is difficult for you but remember you gave your mom all she needed. Your love , care and concerns were what your mom wanted and got. God Bless each of you.

I’m so grateful for the special memories of Marguerite which were shared with Terri as recently as this past Sunday. Memories which span from public school, to the Beech St. apartments, to the Prince George Retirement Home. She was easily one of the most pleasant and kindest ladies in Lucan. I remember being comforted by her during the time my father passed away. Later , at the Prince George , she was always so appreciative of any assistance she received. Our thoughts go out to Terri and Tami , and all of Marguerite’s loved ones. Please know she will be remembered with fondness.

Terri, I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. No matter what age we are when we lose our parents, the hurt is still as painful. My parents were both in their nineties when I lost them, and people used to say,, “well, they lived a good life”… Sure they did,, but I wanted them to live a whole lot longer.. and my heart broke when I lost them even at that age. My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time Terri. So sorry for your loss.
Marilyn Bowden. (Hearn)
Tami, Terri and families,

Tami & Jim , Terri & Wade, and Families. I am very saddened to see that Marg has passed. I will cherish so many memories, from the many years that our families have known each other. So many Saturday night card games when we all would get together. I especially enjoyed our chats when I would see Marg at Prince George Retirement Home while visiting Dad. Cherish the memories. My deepest sympathy for your loss.
Dale and Linda Froats
Tami, Terri and families Sending our sympathy and remembering Marg with love and fond memories. My favourite memory is when she told me that there was no way she was going to take my son and his class on the train to St Marys for their school trip as she had always done previous years for classes. He was in a class of 28 boys and 3 girls approximately. I thought she was able to handle anything that came her way as a teacher-but not his class obviously. Have lots of wonderful memories of times shared working and worshiping at church and pictures to hold onto the memories of her and her family. Dale and Linda
