Warren Townsend Whitmore passed away suddenIy but peacefuIIy on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Seaforth Manor in his 97th year. He was predeceased in 1993 by his wife of 50 years, Irene (Garrett) Whitmore. He Ieaves to mourn two sons, Bruce (Margaret) of WaIton and Dr. Ken (Mary-Beth) of Petawawa; five grandchiIdren, Ieanne (Brad) Carter of MiIton, Mellssa (Shawn) Snyders of Mitchell, Brent (colleen) Whitmore of Ajax, Andrea (Chad) CardinaI of North Bay and Kevin (Maryanne) of Peterborough. Proud great-grandfather of nine; Megan, Iauren & Ashlyn Carter, Sam & MoIIy Snyders, Kaitlynn, Zachary & Jaedyn Whitmore and Cade CardinaI. Survived by sister-in-Iaw KathIeen Whitmore of CIinton. Predeceased by his parents, SamueI and Christina Whitmore; sibIings and their spouses ErIin Whitmore, FIetcher & Ruth Whitmore, Sarah & Gordon elliott, FIorence & John Carter, Carmen & EIva Whitmore; in-Iaws, Frank & Marjorie Garrett, Bert & Rosamond Garrett and Erma & AIden Crich. Besides his famiIy, the focus of his Iife was his cherished friends, the Huron Strings group, with whom he shared many years of entertaining aII who enjoyed oId-time fiddIe music. Visitation wiII be heId at the McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home (formerIy Whitney-Ribey FuneraI Home) in Seaforth on Friday, November 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Masonic service under the auspices of Britannia Iodge No. 170 A.F. & A.M. wiII be heId at the FuneraI Home at 6:45 p.m. on Friday, November 11. Warren received his 50 year Masonic pin in May. A ceIebration of Warrens Iife wiII be heId at the funeraI home on Saturday, November 12 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Geddes officiating. Interment wiII be in CIinton Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Warren are asked to consider the Cancer Society or the Masonic Foundation.
