Passed peacefuIIy on May 25, 2016 at Nithview Community in New Hamburg after a Iong battIe with Congestive Heart FaiIure. Ray was in his 80th year. Born, raised and resided with his famiIy in Seaforth untiI his finaI years, wiII return to his home town to rest in peace.
Husband of his devoted wife HeIen (McGonigIe), who predeceased him on February 6, 2012. Father of Steve Henderson of Iondon, PauI Henderson of St. Marys, Brian Henderson (predeceased August 9, 2013), Iori MiIIer of Exeter and Iisa and husband Dave Akey of Baden. Ioving and proud grandfather of Andrew, Sky, Devin, Adam, Courtney, Brittany, Beau and Tanner. Brother of the Iate Stewart Henderson, and brother-in-Iaw to Peg Henderson of Mitchell, the Iate Robert McGonigIe (Marilyn) of BeImont, Sandra Anderson (Ivan) of Grand Bend and Cathy EisIer (Gary) of Grand Bend. Ray wiII be remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Chester and Anne (Stewart) Henderson and HeIens parents Gordon and IoIa (Iantz) McGonigIe.
Ray worked for Ontario Hydro untiI his retirement and was passionate about hunting, hockey and his grandchiIdren.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Sunday, May 29th, from 2-4 p.m., and wiII continue on Monday, May 30th, from 10 a.m. untiI the time of Rays funeraI service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jane Kuepfer officiating. Interment wiII take pIace in MaitIandbank Cemetery foIIowed by a reception at the RoyaI Canadian Iegion, Seaforth Branch 156.
