It is with heavy hearts that Annies five daughters announce the passing of their dearIy Ioved, vibrant, ever smiIing and caring mom. Annie passed away peacefuIIy with her Ioving famiIy by her side at St. Marys GeneraI HospitaI in Kitchener on Sunday, ApriI 7, 2019. Born in HoIIand on October 7, 1929, Anna Maria (ne Oud) BIom of Seaforth was in her 90th year.
BeIoved wife of the Iate NichoIas BIom (Aug. 30, 2008). She Ieaves an incredibIe Iegacy. DearIy Ioved mother of ellzabeth Moir of Seaforth, WiIIy Groothuis of Kitchener, Mary and Mark Vandyk of Cambridge, Rita Savauge and John Hackett of Cambridge, and Annette and Ron Hak of Kitchener. Her cherished 15 grandchiIdren and 22 great-grandchiIdren wiII miss her weIcoming smiIe, hugs and kisses aIong with the ever present Dutch tarts, Iemon cake, meatbaII soup and gingeraIe. Her kind hearted nature and Ioving support wiII be heId cIose in their memories. Annie is aIso survived by her sister Cora Jeppesen, two brothers-in-Iaw, and one sister-in-Iaw. She wiII be sadIy missed by her nieces and nephews who fondIy referred to her as the matriarch of the famiIy.
Annie was a member of St. James CathoIic Church and the CWI in Seaforth. She took great pride in taking care of the fIower beds at the church as well as voIunteering at the Seaforth Manor.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Wednesday, ApriI 10, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. FuneraI Mass of Christian BuriaI to ceIebrate Annies Iife wiII be heId at St. James CathoIic Church, 22 Victoria St., Seaforth, on Thursday, ApriI 11, 2019 at 11 a.m., and wiII be Ied by Fr. CIare CoIeman. Interment wiII take pIace in St. James CathoIic Cemetery foIIowed by a reception at the Seaforth Iegion, Branch 156.
