Surrounded by those who loved her, Elizabeth Mary Klaver (nèe Wagemaker), affectionately known as Bep, passed away peacefully, at Seaforth Community Hospital, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the age of 90. As the matriarch of a large family circle, Bep was a source of love, kindness and caring throughout the times and seasons of her life. Bep made Canada her home in 1954 and embraced the blessings and challenges of life in Canada with faith and determination.
Bep will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Mary Maloney, Casey and Sophie Klaver, Simon Klaver, Liz and Robert Reid, Matt Klaver, Linda Klaver, Richard and Sandra Klaver and Nick and Tracy Klaver. Memories of a special Mama remain with 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Left to reminisce days gone by, are siblings and siblings-in-law Mary and Case Koopman, Corey Klaver, numerous family in Holland and many nieces and nephews.
In faith we trust that Bep’s spirit is reunited in eternal life with her husband Herman (1996), sons Herman Jr. and Fritz, son-in-law Leon Maloney, daughter-in-law Dawn Bates Klaver, grandchildren Cindy and Derek Maloney, her parents Cornelius and Elizabeth (nèe Kuypers) Wagemaker and many who shared her family circle in Holland and in Canada.
Family and friends are invited to visitation at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. with parish prayers at 1:30 p.m. A funeral mass to honour Bep’s life, and find comfort in our faith, will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria Street, Seaforth, commencing at 11a.m. Father Philip Joseph celebrant. Private family interment will take place in St. Columban Cemetery followed by a reception at Seaforth Legion, Branch 156.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be shared with the family by visiting www.haskettfh.com
