It is with great sadness that the family of Dave McGlynn, 71, announce his peaceful passing at LHSC – University Hospital in London on the same day of his birth, April 10, 2020. Dave will be lovingly remembered by Joan (Tiffin) McGlynn, his wife of over 43 years, and his children, Wayne (Meghan) and Janet (James Riehl) McGlynn. He will also be dearly missed by sisters Doris (Frank) Sachs, and Ruth (Bob) Gooding; sisters-in-law; Juanita McGlynn, Mary McGlynn, Fran McGlynn; sister-in-law Shirley Snowden, and brother-in-law Joe Tiffin Jr., as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence “Lorne” and Eva (Willie) McGlynn, and brothers Lloyd (Jean Schumacher), Bruce, James, Ern (Mary), Art, and Dan.
Born in Tillsonburg, Dave moved to the Teeswater area at the age of one where he grew up on the family farm and attended a one-room schoolhouse in Culross Township. After graduating from F.E. Madill High School, he specialized in the trade of plumbing at Fanshawe College and began his career in Kitchener with Paton Brothers in 1969. Dave married his life-long partner Joan on January 15th, 1977 and welcomed his son and daughter in May ‘78 and April ’79, consecutively. Dave, along with his wife, started McGlynn Plumbing Ltd. in 1983 which flourished until he semi-retired in Belfast (ON) in 2006; once a cottage, now a home, he built with his family. After 46 years in the plumbing trade, he officially retired in 2015 and moved to Lucan.
Dave was an ambitious, hard-working man with a lust for life, an imagination to dream, and the determination to achieve, with too many hobbies to list. Above all, time spent with family and friends is what filled his heart. His personality was larger than life, his laughter contagious, and his unique way of expressing himself a memory that will remain with us forever.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be arranged once family and friends are able to come together—just as Dave would have wanted. The family welcomes you to share your memories from days gone by and to correspond regarding the upcoming celebration via email at ForeverDave1949@gmail.com
Memorial donations to Parkinson Society of Southwestern Ontario, Arthritis Society, or Lymphoma Canada. would be appreciated by the family.

Joan, Wayne, Janet, Megan and Jamie,
Our deepest condolences are extended to your family. It is with great saddness in our heart, especially at this most difficult time, to hear of Dave’s passing. There will be a void in the McGlynn family that’s for sure. Dave was definitely a hoot. Remembering Dave, Dan and their buddies visiting our family home (Ernie&Mary) teasing us kids. The early days of snowmobiling the country trails for the hotel run. The New Years Eve party at the farm where I lost my first job to attend. Always will remember his smile, zest and laughter of life.
Memories cannot be stolen. Recall them in your most diffult times.
Virtual hug to all.
Shirley (neice) and Gord Vavasour
