Lillian’s passion above everything else was her family, friends and baking. She was renowned for the best pies and butter tarts ever. Her love of life, strength and determination will be forever missed. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Prince George for all of the love and support they have shown to Lillian through her time there. A special thanks to Haskett Funeral Homes for their compassion and professionalism.
At Lillian’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside will be held at St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye on Thursday, May 21st at 1 PM. Though the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home and live stream the service by visiting https://www.facebook.com/haskettfh (no account required). We were so sorry to hear of Lil’s passing. She was such a wonderful lady and we totally enjoyed her visits North to the Soo. Her baking was enjoyed at many a family dinner, and one summer, Lil’s strawberry jam was our go to picnic lunch. She was such a loving person who left fond memories in her trail. Bob and Sandy, Howard and Sandra, Ken and families. So very sorry to hear of your loss. A death in the family is devastating at any time but more so at this time. It is very different as you cannot share the hugs and spend the time grieving with other family members and friends because of the social distancing. So sorry to read about Lillian’s passing. I was fortunate enough to have known Lillian when I was young and she lived on Butler Street. I was then able to have had the pleasure of enjoying many laughs and conversations with Lillian when I worked at Prince George. She loved her candies, baked goods and chocolates. She was always sharing stories of her beautiful family. Lillian always made me smile. She had a way of making you feel like you were part of her family, and when listening to all the stories, you felt like you knew the entire family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. She was loved by many and she loved you all so much-she will be missed
