Our sympathy to family. We had good times, when our parents got together for social gatherings as part of the “gang” of close friends. In later years, Dad would share stories of he and Elmer when they were young. They were fun to listen to. Elmer had a long and good life, worked hard; but will still be greatly missed. Not many can say they lived in the same house for 95 years.
Bev and Garry
Alan and family,
We were so saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. It was always a joy seeing him out and about. I always loved our hugs!

Send our condolence. I think of the years when we, kids, had good times together as part of Mom and Dad’s “gang” of close friends. Then in later years, Dad would share stories of he and Elmer when they were young. Fun to listen to. They were good friends for a very long time. Elmer had a good life, worked hard, but will be missed greatly. Hugs across the airwaves in this time of Covid.

Elmer will be greatly missed in the community for his willingness to visit and his support for his church and lodge. Bob really enjoyed curling with and against him and has great memories of being part of the group who fished at the Queen Charlotte Isands. We enjoyed his competitiveness and enthusiasm for playing euchre at the lodge card parties – even at 94 years of age. We will miss having a chat him as we did so often throughout the years. He truly lived a remarkable life – 95 years on the same farm.

When I reflect on my memories of Uncle Elmer, I can picture his smile and his laugh, along with his easy going nature. I did enjoy meeting with Elmer and conversing about what was happening in the world. He would have some interesting thoughts and observations. Our mother, Audrey would always speak proudly of her brother Elmer.
He will be missed by the whole family.

Alan and the Powe family: Our deepest condolences on Elmer’s passing. During my 20 years at Centralia College, across the road from the Powe farm, we met on many occasions, during the year that the Powes allowed our students to study their farm business, when Elmer would attend s short course at the College or host a beef farm tour group. During my curling days I often played on or against Elmer’s team. I always appreciated his wisdom and experience and thankful for knowing him.

Elaine, Bruce, Marie, Ron and Alan and families;
Please accept our very deepest sympathy at your loss of a wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather and our faithful friend. Elmer was a stalwart of our church and our community. We enjoyed hearing his memories of days past, his insights and reasons why things should be as they are. He enjoyed visiting with people and was always concerned and asking about family members and people he knew. He was very proud of his own family and their achievements although he had to be asked before he would tell us about their accomplishments usually. Elmer has left a wonderful legacy in his family. He certainly enjoyed their musical talents as well as all that they did. After Etta passed away I remember him talking to me about it. He missed her so very greatly but he shook his head and said what can you do but go on, as hard as it is. We will miss Elmer and his wisdom, his thoughtfulness, his smile, but as hard as it is, we will go on, remembering all that Elmer did for us and gave us. God bless.
