Passed away peacefully at Kingsway Lodge, St. Marys on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Maurice Crone for 51 years (2019). Loved by her family and special friends Dianne Dawson, and Heather and Greg Moffatt. Marjorie enjoyed her partnership on the farm with Maurice, who was always “my man”. In her quiet way, she was proud of her pilot husband who seemed capable of accomplishing anything, and was always there to help a friend in need. When there was time, she could be found filling the days with her quilting, weaving mats, baking, gardening and canning, her beloved kitties, and her social time as a long-time member of the Prospect Hill Woman’s Institute.
A graveside service will be held at the St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 11 AM. So sorry to hear of Marjorie’s passing. She was always so easy to visit, and talk to by phone during COVID, while at Kingsway. One could not wish for better neighbours than Maurice and Marjorie. George and I spent many hours at their table talking of foods and farming, all the neighbourhood news. Marj and I shared stories of canning, knitting and quilting. The fall Milverton supper was always a highlight they organized the neighbourhood to attend. After George’s passing–they were so helpful and generous–pulling out my stuck lawn mower, helping with heavy work, offering advice and silent understanding with a cup of green tea! And the car…..!!!!. Due to COVID I will not be able to attend, but they, together again, will always be in my heart. Sincere condolences to her family and special friends.

My deepest condolences to Marjorie’s family, and to her special friends Heather and Diane whom I know loved her dearly. Cherish your memories of Marjorie. Keep them close to your heart and you will carry her with you always. There is another bright star in the sky tonight, right beside Maurice’s, whom she loved dearly.
