Leola May Hood, of Brussels, Ontario passed away peacefully at Clinton Public Hospital on Friday, March 5, 2021 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Hood (2006) for over 47 years
Dear mother of Lyle and Doris Hood of RR 2 Seaforth. Survived by siblings Ross (Donna) of Cambridge, June Aarsteinsten of London and Murray (Joan) of British Columbia. Missed by her many nieces and nephews. They brought so much joy to her life with calls, visits, days away, casino trips and just simply always never forgetting her. Fondly remembered by her dear friends, Marion Skipjack of Listowel and Lillian Moses of Listowel. Leola and her family were blessed with the unwavering support of neighbour, Barb Watts. Predeceased by parents, Melville and Roxy (Rowland) Jacklin; brothers, Ron of Alberta, Arnold of Markdale and sister, Joyce of Hamilton as well as in-laws Doris & Bob Brown, Glen Hood & Grace Simpson, Jean & Orval Diehl, Sterling & Della Hood, Lloyd Hood (WW2).
Together with her husband, Leola farmed on Concession 14 of Grey Township, tending their dairy cows, cash-cropping, keeping hearth and home and supporting family. In 1978 they semi-retired on a small farm just outside of Brussels. She became famous for her freezer-ready ducks, geese and chickens. In semi-retirement, Leola had the time to learn how to “play”. She enjoyed many bus trips to environs near and far; Bingo was a constant on the calendar, and she kept beautiful flower beds and gardens.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of Leola’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Seaforth (519-527-1390).
Donations to Clinton Public Hospital Foundation, ONE CARE, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Lyle and Doris, so sorry to read about Leola. She was always ready to give you a grumble, followed by a chuckle. It was important to give the same back as that is what she expected.
