Peacefully at Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig on Saturday, August 7, 2021, Eleanor of Denfield, in her 99th year. Beloved daughter of the late Montgomery and Gertrude (Robson) Charlton. Predeceased by her very young sister Dorothy, and her loyal brother Elgin. Eleanor was a lifelong resident of Lobo Township (now Middlesex Centre), and lifelong member of St. George’s Anglican Church. Eleanor loved music and playing the violin with her brother Elgin in the “Ilderton Entertainers”. She also taught violin to many students. One of her prize possessions was a Violin made for her by her father. Eleanor was also a member of the London Symphony Orchestra for many years.
A private interment service will be conducted for Eleanor at St. George’s Cemetery fittingly, her final earthly resting place. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. George’s Anglican Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
Grateful thanks are due to Heather Bice and staff at the former Countryside Manor, Coldstream, as well as to the staff of Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig.

Dear Joe and Ruth
The angels will be singing to the band now that Eleanor and Elgin have been reunited again. Joe and Ruth, you have been Eleanor’s earth angels for so many years (and Elgin’s too) with looking after them so well and just being there for them. You are both so kind and giving . It was my pleasure to have had the time with Eleanor and one of the best things was getting to know the both of you. I have great memories of Eleanor and loved when she played her violin for us. Thank you for being such wonderful friends.
