After a heroic battle with cancer, Corlette, our warrior, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her pride and joy, her family on Monday, March 14, 2022 of Exeter, at the age of 65. Cherished wife, and devoted teammate of Brad Elder for over 41 years. Proud mom of Chantelle and James Linton, Travis and Tiffany Elder, and Troy and Hannah Elder. Adored Mama of the late Emma, Lexi, and Addison Linton, Auston Elder, and baby boy Elder on the way. Fur-Mama of Wolfie, Bowser, and Hugo. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Mary Lynne and Ralph Armstrong, Wynne and the late Cheryl Rutledge, Dale and Carol Rutledge, Brock and Dale Rutledge, and Loralee and Dave Marshall. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and the Elder family. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Leone (Hunter) Rutledge.
Corlette devoted her career working in agricultural lending, solely for Farm Credit Canada. She was a pillar of the community, volunteering her time with South Huron Minor Hockey. Above all, she always cherished her time spent with her family.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, EXETER on Saturday afternoon from 1 – 3 PM. Registration is required to attend the visitation. Please click “Register Now” below to register.
A public/open celebration of Corlette’s life will be held at the South Huron Recreation Centre, 94 Victoria Street East, EXETER on Saturday, March 19th at 4 PM. Registration for the celebration of life is not required.

Brad and Family,
Sincere Heartfelt condolences. A long while, but still a shock to learn such sad news. Corlette always spoke with such great love and pride of you and your family, her greatest joy. I know it was mutual. Her capacity for empathy and understanding, for love and devotion to family, community and all concerned was inspirational and constant, and a gift to be remembered. Had time allowed, it could have been so much more, but concerning Corlette, it could not have been better.

Brad and family,
Sorry to hear of Corlette’s passing. She always had a smile and was a great inspiration when we talked.
She was a great representative of FCC who helped a lot of farmers survive the high interest rates of the 80’s. A professional second to none. RIP

I consider myself so fortunate to have been able to share time with Corlette on the ball field as well as many years as a volleyball partner. We shared so many laughs together along with lots of family stories. I will treasure all these memories of this beautiful, hard working lady. I shall keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Cherish your wonderful memories and know she will always be with you as you look around at yourselves. A part of her is in each one of you. Hugs Tam
