Oren Dale Kerwood Shaule passed away at suppertime Sunday May 8, 2022 at the age of 79. Dale was born on the family farm in Cloudslee, (near Bruce Mines, Ontario.) His parents were William E. (1975) and Ethel (Clark) V. Shaule (1958). Loved brother of Rev. Darrell Shaule, Lucan. Uncle Dale to nieces and nephews: Cheryl, Lauryl, Gordon and Donna; Brenda, Barbara, Timothy, Beverly, Bernice, Tyler and Drew and their loved ones and also many great and great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Predeceased by his parents, sisters: Myrna, Gail, Glenelda (Orford) and brother, Dwight; brother-in-law, Cliff Orford and sisters-in-law Jewell and Joanna, and great nephew, Robbie.
Dale was employed at Algoma Steel until 1976 when mental illness forced him to take disability. In spite of this, Dale enjoyed visits with family, reminiscing about the neighbours while growing up on the family farm and his work.
A Public Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Cloudslee Cemetery, Bruce Mines, Ontario, Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. Also a private family Celebration of Life will be held in Lucan on Saturday, May 21st.
At Dale’s request, donations in his memory may be forwarded to the Staff Appreciation Fund at Craigwiel Gardens or Forest Cliff Camps.
The family is most grateful for the outstanding compassionate medical care for many years from Dr Haque, Parkwood Hospital, Dr Whynot, the entire Nursing and Office Staff, Housekeeping, Dietary, Laundry, Recreation, PT and Maintenance Team at Craigwiel Gardens where he has resided since August 2017. Special thanks to Community Bible Church Family, Lucan for their love, support and prayers.
Many years ago in days of childhood
I used to play till evenin’ shadows come
Then windin’ down that old familiar pathway
I’d hear my mother call at set of sun.
Come home, come home it’s suppertime
The shadows lengthen fast
Come home, come home it’s suppertime
We’re going home at last.

Sending my condolences to you Darrell at the loss of Dale. I enjoyed getting to know Dale and you during my time working at the nursing home. Dale had a kind heart and appreciated a good joke. His poker face always got me when he gave me a witty reply. Then I would see the smile! He is now at peace.
