Peacefully at Jessica’s House on June 29, 2022, Phyllis Haugh of Exeter at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Haugh for 68 years. Loving mother of Larry and Lorie Haugh of London. Proud grandmother of Mallory Craigmile, Lauren Craigmile and Tony Renda. Great grandmother of Oliver Renda. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Merv and Sandy Taylor, Diane Taylor and Joyce and Mike Burke. Loving daughter of the late Reta McBride and Bill Taylor. Predeceased by brothers Stuart Taylor (Junette), Bob Taylor, and brother-in-law Ross Haugh (Irene).
Phyllis grew up on the family farm on the Goshen Line, north of Zurich, where she attended Zurich Public School. During her high school years in Exeter, the family moved to a farm across from the Exeter cemetery, where she was excited to have indoor plumbing! When she and Lorne married, they bought a house on Carling Street that they called home for 68 years. Phyllis had a long career with Dashwood Industries, and she also worked at Fairbairn’s, grading eggs, as well as Tuckey Beverages. She was a great hockey and baseball mom, and an avid bowler in her own right. A proud charter and life member of Exeter Lioness, Phyllis had many dear friends and great times. She will be missed.
A private graveside service will be held at the Exeter Cemetery. Donations to Jessica’s House, or South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Dear Larry, Lori and family I was so sorry to hear about your mums passing only last night. I was in to see Lossy last week and we talked about your mum as usual. It came as a shock to me and my heart goes out to you both. She will be happy to once again be with your dad they were a special pair and Larry and I loved them both, lots of happy memories. The road to healing is not easy you know that but just knowing they are together again makes me smile. I know they loved your daughters and I can remember them saying they only wished they had had them longer in their lives so special. Thinking off you Joyce Eveland and family.

Very sorry to hear of Phyllis’ passing. Her and Lorne were a great team 4 so many years. They both served as a second set of parents for little Joe when I was first getting started into minor hockey. Without their help I would never have gotten a chance to play. I have been very grateful to them both all my life.

For many years after I moved to London it was my good fortune to frequently cross paths with Lorne and Phyllis Haugh when I would return to attend events in Exeter. I was always happy to see them and they seemed happy to see me too. I can still close my eyes and see Lorne’s broad, warm smile when we spotted each other. And I vividly remember Phyllis’ sincere interest in learning about what I and my mother and brothers and sisters were doing.
I will miss her.
