Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the age of 83. Beloved husband and farming partner of the late Marlene (Eagleson) Rundle (2021) for 59 years. Cherished father of Scott Rundle and Bonnie Baynham, and Lisa Rundle. Adored grandfather of Megan. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Hugh Rundle, Margaret Truemner, Marion Dougall, and Sharon Latta. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Alma (Harding) Rundle, and his brother-in-law Ron Latta.
Allan’s work career started early at the age of 14, running the family farm with the help of a hired hand. His involvement in 4-H took him to the Royal Winter Fair, receiving top prize winning ribbons for his Charolais Heifer. His love of sports led him to be part of an Ontario Championship baseball team. In hockey, he was drafted by a farm team to the big leagues with his nickname, Al “Bruiser” Rundle. Ultimately, Allan chose to be a part of his own family farm team on the Rundle Homestead for the next 60 years.
“Never under estimate the power of silence”
In keeping with Allan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside will be held at Exeter Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Homes, Exeter (519-235-1220).
Donations to South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

To Lisa, Scott, Bonnie and Megan my deepest condolences to your loss of your father and grandfather. I got to meet Allan and your mother Marlene over 42 years ago. When I attended centralia college graduating in 1982.Your parents signed up for farm project analysis for students at Ccat to analyze and look over their farm operations and help with our farm business management. I always had a great admiration of your father and mother. I made it a goal that when in Exeter I would stop in for a quick visit. The last time I was there was April 2nd 2022. I knocked on the door and your father answered the door. I told him who I was he remembered me and we had a great visit for about an hour. Keep those memories of your mom and dad and grandfather close. They definitely made a contribution in making yours and my life more enjoyable. Take care Allan Carruthers ABM 1982 Ccat student
