Passed away with his family by his side at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Elaine (Jeffrey) Coxon for 44 years. Cherished father of Jenna and Dan Drennan of Zurich, and Lisa Coxon and Mike Stilson of London. Loving grandfather of Brody, and Jake Drennan. Dear brother-in-law of Don and Charlene Oesch of RR2 Zurich. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Wesley and Anne (Overholt) Coxon, sister Sue Anne Morrison, brothers-in-law Grant Wainwright, Gary Jeffrey, and his in-laws Alphonse and Yvonne (Corriveau) Jeffrey.
Doug had a love for model trains and a freshly cut lawn. He worked as a feeder driver for United Parcel Service (UPS) throughout his life. In 2015, the National Safety Council awarded him the Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver Award to acknowledge his 37 years of safe driving.
In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 49 Goshen Street North, ZURICH on Friday, December 29th from 2 – 5 PM.
Doug’s memorial mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church, 73309 Bluewater Hwy, Zurich on Saturday, December 30th at 11 AM. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Diabetes Canada, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

My sincere condolences in the loss of Doug. I well remember Doug (and Sue Anne, Wes and Anne) from my early Zurich days. Our store and home was right across from the Coxon home. We had some good chats over the years. Doug was a great guy and will be missed by many.

I remember Doug he was a great co worker.
On winter 2006 to 2007. We where driving west on 401. The weather was very bad.
Between Kitchener and Woodstock the roads and visibility was very bad.
Doug Said over the CB follow the Center medium. That way we will stay on the road.
I did what Doug told me to do and I got to Woodstock safely.

I’ve known Doug since we started high school together. Over the years when our paths would cross from time to time, I could always count on sharing a laugh with him while talking about his trains or R/C planes and boats and of course ‘that lawn’. He was quite modest about being the first Canadian ever to win the North American Truck Driving Safety Award for 5 million miles of accident free driving for UPS. But the thing I really admired about Doug was the way he met the ever escalating health issues he faced in his recent years. No matter what the concern, he always seemed to face it head on with quiet determination and strength with Elaine by his side. Time to rest now friend, you’ve truly earned it.

Hey Buck a roo, it was an honour working with you for 35 years, when I came into feeders you were the guy everyone looked up to, the senior guy with lots of advice and a big laugh. You got along with everyone, from feeders to automotive and even management
