NORRIS: Dr. Helen “Betty” Elizabeth (Campbell)

May 20, 1937 – February 24, 2024

On February 24, 2024, at the age of 86 and after a valiant battle with cancer, Betty passed peacefully, surrounded by family. In her last days, she expressed excitement in greeting her beloved late husband Bob and son Paul in their heavenly home. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her brother Edward Campbell, her sons Robert and wife Sherie, Ronald and wife Elizabeth, and Russell; adopted daughters Sandra, Cheryl, Deborah and Nancy; as well as her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a loving mother who was devoted to family—and loved every moment she spent with them.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Palliative Care Team in Durham for their compassionate care for our mom. Betty will always be known for her commitment to God, her love of the Lord and her deep desire to share with others the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. After raising her children, Betty went on to achieve both scholarly and spiritual milestones, earning a doctorate and embracing the role of pastor with passion and purpose.

A visitation will be held on March 10, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East, Scarborough.

The funeral will take place on March 11, 2024, 2 p.m., at Toronto International Celebration Church, 190 Railside Road, North York where “Dr. Betty” faithfully served as an assistant pastor for over 10 years. A reception will take place immediately following the service. All are welcome. The family will hold a private burial service in Seaforth, Ontario, at a later date.
