Passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 7, 2024 of RR 1 St. Marys at the age of 76. Cherished husband of Marilyn (Dickerson) Thompson for over 53 years. Loving father of Beth and Rob Crawford, the late Carrie Lynne Thompson (1976), Tianna and Mike Boyce, and Jacob Thompson. Proud grandpa of Ashley, Hudson, Lily, Mikaela, and Keith. Dear brother of Christine Presley, and Gayle Brown. Fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law Christina Thompson, and the Dickerson family. Predeceased by his sister Vicki Johnson, and Bill Thompson.
John was a crossword puzzle connoisseur. He could carry on a full conversation while quietly completing a crossword in the background. He also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and never found one that was too hard. John could be found working on the house, always working towards fixing or improving something.
Keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Very saddened to hear of John’s passing! I worked with him for many years at Intertec. I fondly remember his famous thermos full of tea or chocolate milk & always a long sleeved shirt! Even when it was 100°C outside. “Fork Truck Johnny”……The stories from his McCormick days etc. Many great memories made with him! Thinking of you all at this sad time!
