CASTONGUAY: Kathrine-Laurencia (Jones) of Lucan, formerly of Sudbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the age of 64. Cherished wife of Danny Castonguay for 49 years. Proud mom of Christine, husband Michael McMullen of Guelph, and Shawn Castonguay of Toronto. Adored grandma of Xavier, Malachi, Chase, and Gemma. Beloved daughter of Marie and the late Roland Jones. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Ronnie and Lise Jones of Valley East, Patricia and Denis Bourdon of Goderich, Raymond and Michelle Jones of Calgary. Also, sister-in-law to Debbie and Roger Villeneuve of Sudbury, Bobby and Mindy Castonguay of Wahnapitae, Kenny and Danielle Castonguay of McCrea Heights, Rosanne and Reg Wilcox of Allen Texas, the late Marlene and Brian Levesque of Garson, and James and Heather Castonguay of North Bay. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Kathrine dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 16, 1982, and until her death, she had put her relationship with her heavenly Father first in her life. Through her long struggle with cancer, she found comfort and strength from the scriptures. Isaiah 41:10 was a favourite. It reassured her “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.”
Kathrine’s memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 160 Francis Street, EXETER ON on Saturday, July 13th at 2 PM. Cremation has taken place.
Zoom credentials are as follows, Exeter Congregation meeting ID is 925 867 0592, password 5265205.
Donations to Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Elizabeth Home Care, ParaMed, and VON for their wonderful care and compassion shown.
