Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at AgeCare Parkhill on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Rose (Ducharme) Brittain for 48 years. Cherished father of Julie and Dan Turkheim, Judy and Randy Shepherd, and Bradley and Janey Scott. Adored grandfather of Scott and Jolene, Amy and Adam, Megan and Richard, Mike and Ashley, Jordyn and Sean, Sam and Hilary, and Claire and great-grandfather of Madison, Nico, Remy, Norah, Jaxon, Ava Rose, Brooklyn, Dawson, Chase, and Jaden. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Dorothy Moynes, Bertha and Ross Lamb, Fred and Patsy Brittain, Lloyd and Joy Brittain, Grace Brittain, Carolyn Brandon, Anne and Jim Finlay, Evelyn and Peter Jeffrey, Doreen McLinchey, Marjorie and Ron Overholt, and Gerard and Mary Ducharme. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and close friends. Predeceased by his siblings and in-laws Fred Moynes, Edna and Cecil Anderson, Donna and Cecil Lumree, Gary McLinchey, Phyllis Snow, and Gary Brandon and his parents Acel and Ethel (Graham) Brittain.
Keith spent his days working as a contractor, building homes and dreams for others. But amidst the hustle and bustle, he always found time for his passions. He loved old country and western music, often tapping his foot to the familiar tunes as he worked. In his spare time, Keith enjoyed the simple pleasures of hunting and fishing. Whether it was casting a line into a nearby lake or venturing out into the woods, these moments brought him a sense of peace and enjoyment.
Known for his gentle and friendly nature, Keith was a beloved presence in his community serving as a mason and earning his Grand Master title at Lebanon Forest Lodge 133, Exeter. He enjoyed gatherings, where he could share stories and laughter with friends old and new. He loved listening to music, woodworking, and spending time outdoors, soaking in the beauty of nature during scenic drives or leisurely walks. His Lucky 7 Hunt Club and their cottage up north were his little pieces of Heaven.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Exeter Hospital and AgeCare Parkhill for the care and compassion they provided to Keith during his stays.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Tuesday, August 13th from 10 – 11 AM, where a celebration of Keith’s life will be held at 11 AM. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment at Exeter Cemetery at a later date.
If you are unable to attend the service in person, the family invites you to watch the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.com.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.

Condolences to Rose and family. Keith was a great man and made a great impression on me and many others. When I was first introduced to the lucky seven hunting camp through Ron and Mary Ransom. It didn’t take long to realize Keith was a good guy with a big heart and a keystone of the Lucky seven hunting Club. The camp doors were always open to you for a hot meal a cold drink, and some good laughs, over the years I realized it wasn’t just a group of guys having a good time but a second family where everybody looked out for each other and Keith will be greatly missed.

We have been privileged to have known the Brittain family for 25 years. We met when we first moved to Tomiko.
Keith was a great man, a great gentlemen to his core.
Life is just a series of memories and our memories of being at the Brittain’s are happy and plentiful. The dinners, the happy hours, the euchre games will never be matched.
Our nephews nicknamed Keith “The Duke” for his John Wayne bearing. They are also avid hunters and enjoyed getting together with Keith every hunting season.
We used to love to pull in the driveway and see Keith in his coveralls, always puttering in the garage.
We were fortunate to travel with these great people to Ireland and Newfoundland. Just pure joy.
We loved to watch Keith and Rose waltzing to the song “Waltz Across Texas”. Hands down, this was their song. Keith and Rose are the couple that many of us aspire to be. Or condolences to Rose and her wonderful family.

To call my memories of Keith find, would be an understatement. I learned a lot from the way he carried himself and in the manner he treated others, on top of the knowledge and history I gained from his experiences as a fellow hunter. Sharing the experience of Bryan and I each shooting our first moose, and the help he and the lucky 7 gang gave to us that day, stands out as one of the best memories I have, and will ever have. Condolences to Rose and family for the loss of a great man. May the moose be big, the partridge plentiful and the whiskey bottomless. See yah on the next hunt
