July 02, 1964 – September 23, 2024
Peacefully with her family by her side, Joanne Marie Zettler passed in her 61st year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in England to Carole & the late John Hewetson. Joanne was a devoted wife to Mathew, with whom she shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Loving mother of Krista & Thomas and Jonathan & Kerri. Special grandma to Carter, Alice, Hudson, Nolan and Riley. Her family was the centre of her universe and she derived immense joy from spending time with her grandchildren. Sadly missed by her mother Carole Hewetson and her siblings Sally & Jeff Vaessen, Nick & Nancy Hewetson, Lisa Hewetson and Rachel Hewetson. Also by her in-laws, Andrée & Dave Larocque, Chris & Nancy Zettler, Mark & Cindy Zettler and David Zettler. Survived by aunts, uncles & cousins in England, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father John Hewetson, James & Jackie Zettler and Mike Zettler. Special friend of Dieter & Denise Hoesterey.
Joanne had a warm smile that could light up any room. She had a special fondness for pigs and enjoyed listening to the soothing sounds of Michael Bublé and Elton John while drinking a cup of her favourite British tea. Her favourite place in the world remained England, a reflection of her roots and cherished memories. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Thursday, September 26th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM, where Joanne’s funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27th at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huron Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
Special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the hospice and to our home palliative team of Kendall, Kim & Shelly.

Quality of Life is not measured by length of time, but by the depth of our effect on the lives of others.
Joanne changed the lives of many for the better. This is obvious by the Joy She gave her family, and most especially, my friend Matt, who never could stop “singing Her praises”, and probably never will.
Please accept my condolences Matt and Family. I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there to help You lay Joanne “to rest”.
R.I.P. Joanne Zettler (nee Hewetson). The painful part of Your journey is over.

Joanne, the world seems a little less bright now. I will miss spending time laughing with you and sharing the latest news about our grandchildren with one another. Thx to you and May for introducing us to Cards Against Humility…. I’ve never laughed so much.
Bayfield was where our friendship began 13 years ago, when I instantly felt as though I’d known you forver and where we said goodbye, see you again in heaven. You were without a doubt one of the strongest people I have ever met. Rest now my friend…..you deserve it.
