Every once in a while, someone comes alongside your path, that causes you to stand still, take notice, and exclaim, “yes, she was here, she made a difference!”…..Ed & Marianne, you raised children that are respectful, serve God, and are positive contributors to this world….Jaclyn lived God’s purpose for her intently, stayed briefly, and left abruptly; but who’s impact won’t be fully understood & appreciated for many years or generations…..We’re grateful God gave us the opportunity to witness this life well lived!

I met Jaclyn just this past year as we both were going through cancer treatment. I swore I didn’t want any ‘cancer friends’ but we quickly bonded over our shared cancer but mostly because we’re both small town southern Ontario gals.
Jaclyn was a fantastic person, I only needed to know her a short time to figure that out. Some people have a light about them and Jaclyn had that, if you looked closely it was always glowing.

Jaclyn and I played soccer together every summer growing up, and I can still picture her on the field…tall, crazy long legs, and a big smile. I found out about her battle with cancer when I saw her “Jac Attack” video, and she has been on my mind ever since. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve the loss of such a beautiful young mother, wife, daughter, and sister.

Aaron, Annabelle, Emmett, Marianne & Ed & family and Simon family,
Our hearts are broken with the passing of Jackie, she has been an inspiration to so many. Our kids loved when she came to babysit them years ago, she was so proud of her family and always told the kids lots of stories about them. We kept in touch and have enjoyed watching her become a successful nurse, such a beautiful bride and precious mother to Annabelle and Emmett.. Rest in peace Jackie, our heart goes out to your family.

I worked with Jaclyn at the Renfrew County and District Health Unit until my retirement in 2011. I will remember Jaclyn fondly as a co-worker who always had a huge smile for everyone and a genuine kind woman. I’ll remember our laughter as we realized we shared the same middle name “Petranella Maria” due to our Dutch heritage and I’ll remember her most for her courage, determination and true grit.
