Charlotte Helen Blok, beloved daughter of Millie Cox, and Carolyn and George Mossman died on December 3, 2015 in South Huron Hospital, Exeter. She left this life after two prolonged battles with cancer. Throughout all of her hard journey she was surrounded by the care and love of her family and close friends, and is now at peace. She leaves behind her daughters Heather Blok (Exeter) and Erin Blok (Exeter/ Whistler), their father Terry Blok (Exeter); her parents Carolyn and George Mossman (Nova Scotia/Ottawa), sister Catherine Mossman (Penetanguishene) and brother, John Mossman (Jasper). She was predeceased by her brother Fred Mossman (1978). She was also predeceased by grandparents, Helen and Titus Mossman, Mabel and Lloyd Schurman, all of Nova Scotia. Born in Truro, Nova Scotia on March 30, 1962 Charlotte grew up in Fredericton, Chicago, and Edmonton. In her early 20’s she headed to Ontario where she made her home and raised her family in Exeter. Through her work with the Centre for Employment and Learning, Charlotte established strong ties with a wide circle of friends and many community agencies. Charlotte always held the beaches and the family visits to her ‘down east’ home in a cherished place in her heart. There was nothing she loved more than long strolls on the beach hunting for shells and various ‘found’ treasures. Charlotte was always kind-hearted, sweet-natured, very sensitive and always put others first. She was also incredibly talented in quilting, knitting, sewing, fine needle-point, felting and rug hooking to which many friends and family would attest, as she was always generously gifting these wonderful creations to others. She especially appreciated the strong and close friendship and support of her good friend Teresa Ondrejicka and Jan Easton and their families. In addition, there were many people close to her heart who were living further away, such as the Mundles, the Bourchiers, the Gass family, her Schurman cousins, the Middle LaHave contingent, including the UCW and many others. Friendship was uppermost in Charlotte’s life; she always maintained constant contact with all.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main), on Monday, December 7th from 6-9 PM. The Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Tuesday, Dec 8th, at 1:00pm at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 40007 Kirkton Road, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested for any of the following: South Huron Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care, the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation, Exeter, or a charity of your choice.

Dear Heather, Erin and Terry;
Please accept our deepest sympathy at your great loss. We remember Charlotte from her association with my sister Faye and also from her time she spent with us at the church in Centralia. All the kind things that were said about Charlotte in her obituary certainly were true from what we knew about her. I remember the smile and joy she always shared wherever she was. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Heather and Erin, you have been in our hearts these weeks, as in spirit we all shared your mother’s journey. It’s hard to lose a Mom. Yet all is not lost. In her living she shared many gifts – some of which will live on into the future through you. And through others. In your grieving may you find peace and courage..
