Peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Friday, December 12, 2014, Glenn W. Deitz of Zurich, passed away in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Walff) Deitz (2002). Dear father of Gordon and Karen Deitz of Grand Forks B.C., Glenda and Roger Lavergne of Ottawa and daughter-in-law Margaret Deitz of London. Loving Grandfather of Glenn and Cherie Deitz, Kathy Deitz, Matthew Lavergne and Meghan Campanaro, Michelle Lavergne, Greg Deitz and Jacki Mitten, Brian and Heather Deitz and Robert Deitz and great-grandfather of Gordie, Dayton, Christan; Sam and Liam. Dear brother of Gloria Allen and Joan McKinnon and brother-in-law of Carole Deitz. Missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Larry Deitz, his parents Milton and Myrtle (Ortwein) Deitz, one brother Stewart “Pete” Deitz, sisters Helen (Claire) Geiger and Betty (Art) Haist, brother-in-law Ray McKinnon and special friend Donna Corbett.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N, Zurich, Ont on Monday from 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11 a.m.. Visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Rev. Pirie Mitchell officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment Emmanuel United Cemetery, Zurich.
