…said goodbye to us on Tuesday, May 26, at his home, surrounded by his family. Vic is deeply missed by his wife, Shirley, the love of his life for 59 years. He was a loving father to daughter Brenda-Ann (Rob Snell) and sons, Brad (Teresa) and Greg (Shelly). He will be reunited with his son Garth, his parents, John and Hilda Hargreaves, his sister Blanche Harrison and her husband, Bill and infant grandson Jamie Snell. He will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Gavin Snell (Melissa), Hayley Snell, Daniel Snell (Julia), Timothy Snell(Kory); Jennifer McClinchey (Rob), Jodi Dalton (Darrell) and their mother, Judy Hargreaves; Sarena Hargreaves (Matt), Alayna Hargreaves (Ben); also loved by Kerry Leppington (Jon). He was a protective and loving Poppa Vic to Mackenzie, Taylor and Madie McClinchey, Sebastian Hargreaves, Rylee Dalton, Macey and Payton Leppington, and soon-to-arrive baby Snell in Okotoks, Alberta. He was a devoted brother to Shirley Robinson (the late Percy) and John and Evlyn Hargreaves. He will also be missed by sisters-in-law Dorothy Scott (the late Howard), Joan Henderson (the late Bill) and Anne Ker (Archie). He is cherished by many other family members and friends. Vic died as he lived, with strength, dignity and an abiding sense of humour. Pops, you have left a great void in our lives, one which can never be filled. Words cannot describe our sorrow.
Respecting his wishes, there will be no funeral home visitation. A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at Brucefield United Church on Friday, May 29 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a private family burial service at Baird’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Brucefield United Church or Saint Elizabeth Health Care would be appreciated by the family.

It was my mom’s birthday yesterday, and I was at the cematary planting begonia’s for her as I’ve done every year since she passed. Then my husband and I did the walk around.
We came upon a Stone with Hargreaves on it, with very fresh beautiful white flowers surrounding it. When I got home I searched the internet to find it was Vic who passed. When I lived in Brucefield , it was like one very large family at times. I remember Vic as a real charmer, and Shirley always so friendly, they always welcomed you into their home. My condolences go out to Shirley and the whole family. He will be missed.

Dear Shirley and family,
I was saddened to hear of Vic’s passing. I have fond and happy memories of both Vic and you Shirley, from the soft ball days in Brucefield. Also the time I came and stayed with your family while you flew down to surprise Vic in the south. Stacy and Marnie were just little girls then, and I was expecting Dale. He is now 40, so we go back a few years for sure.
I shall be praying for all of you. I remind you to share the great memories that you all have of Vic. Memories are the one thing that can’t be taken from us.
Love and Blessings,
Mickey
