Elva Jean (Snell) Peck of Queensway Retirement Home in Hensall, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Jan. 12, 2010. She was in her 88th year and had been resting at Parkwood Palliative Care Unit for 6 days. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert K. (Bob) Peck in 1999. Elva is survived by her six children Dianne Waun of Exeter, Donna (Wayne) Draper of Belmont, Wayne (Lynn) Peck of London and Ft. Myers, Florida, Cheryl (Scott) Litt of Bayfield, Brian (Mary) Peck of London, and Kathy (Rob) Youngblut of Burlington. Elva was so proud of her 14 grandchildren – Scott (Teresa) Kirton, Susan (Jason) Middleton, David Draper, Rob (Bonnie) Draper, Dan Draper, Kelly Peck and fiance Josh, Chris Peck and fiance Emily, Jennifer Litt and fiance Vic, Joelle Litt, Jessica Litt, Margaux Peck, John Peck, Matt Youngblut,& Bryn Youngblut. She was a loving GG to great grandchildren, Jacob and Drew Kirton and Lily Middleton. Elva is also survived by her sister, Betty Fisher of Goderich, brother, Doug Snell of Huronview, and sister-in-law, Florence Snell of Clinton, and sisters-in-law Dorothy (Peck) Elliott of Guelph and Lorraine Peck of Egmondville, as well as many special nieces and nephews. Brother Jack and sister-in-law, Marion Snell, brother-in-law, Ray Fisher, and sister Helen Heuton predeceased Elva. Elva was also predeceased by her in-laws, Frank Elliott of Blyth, Bob and Marion Jackman of Florida, Gladys and Harold Peck of Clinton and Zurich area and Jack Peck of Kippen. Elva’s family wishes to thank Queensway Retirement Home in Hensall for all their kind attention to our Mom, as well as Parkwood Hospital Palliative Care Unit – Dr. Walsh, Dr. Parent, caring nurses, wonderful RPNs and especially, Music Therapist, Jill who sang to Mom and gave us strength every time she visited.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N, Zurich with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Colin Snyder officiating. Spring interment Bayfield Cemetery.
