Peacefully, at Huronview, Clinton, on January 29, 2005, John Frederick “Jack” Simmons, formerly of Hensall, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Betty Simmons of Hensall. Dear father of Lois and George Godbolt of Exeter, Joan and Bob Middleton of Wingham, Jackie and Jim Martin of Scotland and Dale and Stephen Bland of Grand Bend. Loving grandfather of Fred and Christina Godbolt, Matt Godbolt and Vanessa, Julie Godbolt and Kasey, Rob and Lisa Middleton, Sarah Middleton, David and Tracey Martin and Morgan Bland and one great-grandson Brady Martin. Dear brother-in-law of Gordon and Jean Munn, Audrey Munn, Wilma Munn, Eunice Munn and Beatrice Munn. Predeceased by his parents Frederick J. and Alida (Dinsdale) Simmons, brothers-in-law Cecil Munn, Harold and Helen Munn, Jack and Norma Munn, Ted Munn, Sandy Munn, Donald Munn and sister-in-law Helen and Frank Ferrigno. Jack served as a Navy Officer from 1943-1945 with the RCNVER.
Visitation in the Hensall Visitation Chapel on Monday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the Hensall United Church on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 1p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Fred Darke officiating. Spring interment in Hensall Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hensall United Church or Hensall Union Cemetery. A Legion Service will be held on Monday at 6:30 p.m. under the auspices of Royal Canadian Legion Hensall Branch #468
