Peacefully with his loving family at his side on Saturday April 9th, 2016 of Lucan in his 89th year. Devoted husband of Eileen (Weppler) Rushton for 66 years. Dear father of Faye and Mike Geoghegan and Bob and Nancy Rushton all of Lucan. Cherished grandfather of Jenny and Dave, Jim and Nirupa; Kelsey, Matt and Ashlynn and Hayley and Andy. Dear great-grandfather of Neesha. Brother and brother-in-law of Ruth and Vern Gilson of Deloraine, MB. Predeceased by his parents Earl and Lily Rushton, sister Margaret and brother Dean. Tom was a successful farmer and sales manager at International Harvester. He will be remembered for his love of curling, gardening (sharing his produce with anyone and everyone) and for his ability to play bridge with Eileen up until last week. Tom’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Jessica Howard, CCAC and the SEHC palliative caregivers.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Paul Vollick officiating. Interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye. There will be a Masonic service in the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:15 PM.
Donations to London Health Sciences Foundation – Cardiology Unit or the Mocha Shriners would be appreciated by the family.
