At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in her 96th year. Born to parents George and Myrtle Stewart in 1921, she was the oldest of 9 children, growing up on the family farm. As a young woman, Nettie moved to the city, and within a few years married Charles “Doc” Osmond just before he went overseas with the Canadian Forces. Following the war, the couple returned to the Ilderton area to farm. A valued employee for many years at Hay Stationery, Nettie finally retired to read, quilt, and paint. After Doc’s death in 1995, she remained in her farmhouse, following politics passionately, and enjoying visits with friends and family. Nettie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Susan, brother Art, and the Stewart family. We want to thank the staff at Countryside Manor in Coldstream for their unwavering care and compassion.
A private family reception is planned at the Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan. Cremation with interment at Telfer Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Telfer Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
