I met Dr. Lloyd through my friend, Harry Hardy. A fine country gentlemen from that great era with many stories to share. I sat at Doug Oven’s during the steam thresher gathering listening with rapt attention to his many stories of a by-gone era, from a generation rapidly disappearing. A most pleasurable hot August day. I encourage you to listen while they’re still with us.

Dear Wayne and Pam,
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has memories of “Doc Hall” making visits to treat a dog or cat, cow or horse, or whatever creature needed the services of the country vet. Our sincere sympathy, I knew Lloyd soon after he came to Ailsa Craig. He was a great person and we became good friends through the Heritage. He was a very intelligent man, always willing to help. He was in the Air Force and was stationed in England with my brother Clarence for a while. When Lloyd was in Ailsa Craig, we needed veterinary service in the afternoon, I called Gladys , she said he is very busy, you stay at the barn, and Lloyd will come as soon as possible, I stayed and Lloyd arrived at twenty five after two AM. there was no Hydro. l He said he had never stopped. A well respected community person.

Dear Wayne and Pam,
We are so very sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. We have fond memories of him treating our beloved family pets over many years while he serving as Lucan’s Veterinary. I specifically remember a time of compassion when our cat of 18 years had to be “put down” due to cancer. In the past year, I had the honour of caring for your Dad (affectionately referred to as “Doc”) at the Prince George. I’m grateful to have been able to support him in the last year of his long, and fulfilling life. Our thoughts are with you.
