I haven’t spoken to Wes in years but I do remember how strong his faith was and how easy he was to talk to in the youth group of the United Church. He truly cared for each of us and we were lucky to have him. Take pleasure in the peace he has finally found and the suffering is over now…

Helen and Family, I remember Wes as a blessing in many Christian endeavours but mainly with Lay Witness Missions Canada. His faith story touched many lives and he was an encouragement to the Team. I intended to attend the memorial
service but am unable to do so. May God be with you as you mourn Wes’ passing. What joy is his as he is totally healed and walking with Jesus. He has left a wonderful legacy of honouring and praising God affecting the lives of so many people. I pray God’s strength and love surround you. Margaret Breen

Though saddened to hear of Wesley’s passing, I am glad that he has been released from the pain of his cancer. We can be strong in the knowledge that he is in a better place. I spent a lot of time with Wes in my pre-teen and teenage years. He was always a kind and gentle soul, quick to laugh and a pleasure to be with. Wes was truly an inspiration to everyone he met.
I first heard his testimony of knowing Jesus as his Lord & savior at a Lay Witness Mission in the Grand Bend U.C. and it was always good to see his name on the team roster at other missions we were on together.
May The God of all comfort be your portion at this time of Wes’s passing.

Since coming home to canada,…….I only got to spend a few hours with Mr Wes. I remember seeing pictures of my grandfather and boy I could see the great Stanley resemblance.
In the short time I spent talking to Wes……I saw the gentleness and strong Character I see in my father James. Most of all,…he was sure to bring up the Lord Jesus as a pillar of his faith.
I now wish I could have spent more time getting to know him. My dad Jim speaks so highly of Wes and how much he loved his family.
I will try to do the same for my boys and my little girl. God Bless.

Please extend my most sincere sympathy to your family. I was friends with Debbie Stanley-McRobert and played down at the mansion often. Wes was always there, and supportive of me throughout my growing up years on the 16th Concession of London Twsp. He was my Sunday School teacher for a while, and often drove all the Barr’s, McLellan’s, Walkers, and Stanley’s to different group events at Lucan United Church. Seatbelts weren’t invented yet, or regulated!! We all squished into what ever car went to Choir Practice, or Youth Group or Sunday School/Sunday Messenger Meetings. He was a great guy. What the Earth hath lost, Heaven hath gained. God Bless your whole family. I am so, so sorry for your loss of a great and wonderful, man.
Sincerely, Donna McLellan-Garland

Dear Christine, Ang, and families….please know I am thinking of you as I often find myself doing…..I am remembering all the times you have lent me support and love when I most needed them, and knowing that because of you, I am strong enough to return the favour….I did not know your father, only through your eyes but one thing I am sure of….and that’s how proud he would be of both of his girls for spreading love, faith, and common decency to those in need of it….much love to you and yours,
Becky Carter and family
