So sorry to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Jack in hospital as he roomed with my father,Harold Parsons. They helped each other pass the time, play cards, tell stories, share or trade deserts and boast about grandchildren. What an intelligent man, and full of family pride! Grateful to have met him. My sympathy to all.

Because he left such a legacy I thought this poem appropriate
What though the radiance that was once so bright
be now forever taken from thy sight
though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass

We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind.

Over the years, I have gotten to know the Ford family very well. Jack was like a second father to me. I still remember when and where I was when I got the infamous Jack Ford look. It was at that moment I knew I was one of his ‘family’ of many. His stories… like him, were legendary. Jack will be missed… but never forgotten

I thought at first I was looking at a picture of Uncle Hilt (whom I also loved). My brother Jack Ford (here in Michigan) and I were teased constantly as children by Jack, but with the sweetest twinkle in his eye. He was our hero. (A part of my small little world has collapsed.) We will never forget our beautiful cousin.

Aunt Jean & family,
Dad often entertained us as children with the stories of his childhood and early adult years in Ontario. He always spoke very fondly of the times he spent at your place and how much he enjoyed Jack’s company. I think in many ways they were alike with a quick sense of humor and a ready laugh for friends and family.
I know he will be greatly missed and our deepest sympathies to all of you at this difficult time.

Uncle Jack has always been a part of “the farm” in Canada for as long as I can remember! I have pleasant memories of his and Aunt Jeannie’s laughter adding to the festive spirit of the family reunions; and warmly greeting us on our occasional visits. My late mother, Dorothy, always “lit up” when talking about her youngest brother. We will miss him! May you all find comfort and joy in your faith, hope, and memories. Love to you all – especially, to Aunt Jeannie. Benjamin and Carol Schoun of Maryland.
