Peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Monday, June 19, 2017 of Lucan in his 89th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Marilyn (Hern) Dixon for over 61 years. Dear father of Christina Hogan and Richard Lucas of Ilderton, Jim and Donna Dixon, and David Dixon all of RR2 Lucan. Dear grandfather of Kevin and Sarah Hogan, Jeff and Liana Hogan, Lori Hogan and Brian Oliver, Brian and Katie Dixon, Carrie Dixon and Greg McCullough, and Brent Dixon. Dear great-grandfather of Ainsley and Hunter Hogan, Nora and Reed Hogan, and Avery and Emma Dixon. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Shirley Martene, Pauline Miller, Mary and Jack Hogan, LaBelle Dixon, Phyllis Chute, Elaine and Bev Skinner, Pearla and Gerry Tarsitano, Edward and Marilyn Hern. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Grace Dixon, brother Hiram Dixon, and brothers-in-law Tony Martene, Art Miller, James Orr, and Ken Chute. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Bill was a proud dairy farmer in McGillivray Township, farming for over 60 years.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 11 AM with The Rev’d Matthew Martin officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation or the Parkinson Society of Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
