Lorraine passed away peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Bev Alexander (2001). Proud mother of Nancy Alexander of Toronto, Janice and Wayne Andrews of Clinton, Craig and Andrea Alexander of Hensall. “World’s Greatest Grandma” to Lynzi and Ben of Seaforth, Shayne and Sarah of North Vancouver, Luke and Samantha of Hensall. Cherished GG to Vayda, Arthur, Norah, and Mabel. Lovingly remembered by brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Bob and Marion MacLaren, Mac and Ann MacLean. Loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her brother David Livingston, her dearly loved grandson Garrett Alexander, brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Arlene Livingston, Don “Scoop” and Lois O’Brien, Ross and Dianne Alexander. Fondly remembered by many special friends in the Thames Road and Exeter communities.
Lorraine was devoted to her family. She cherished her time at family gatherings, celebrating every special occasion, and especially spending time with each family member. Lorraine had a true zest for life, she was a social butterfly and loved to take part in a card game, line dance, or game of shuffleboard whenever she had the chance. She was an integral member of the Thames Road-Elimville United Church, including the UCW, strawberry suppers, and participated in all church activities. Lorraine was a wonderful friend to many in the Thames Road and Exeter communities.
A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 2nd at 9 AM. Interment McTaggart Cemetery. Though the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your own home. Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting www.facebook.com/haskettfh.
Lorraine lived life to the fullest for 90 years, truly an inspiration to all who knew her. In her honour, she would appreciate a toast or a game of cards while you think of a special memory you shared.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Thames Road-Elimville United Church or the charity of your choice.
A special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff on the Palliative Team at South Huron Hospital, Woodstock Hospital – Rehabilitation Centre, and Exeter Villa Retirement Home for their excellent care and compassion provided to Lorraine.

Nancy, Janice, and Craig,
We are so sorry about Lorraine. Your Mom has been such a good friend to our family. When Mom spent her last months in Exeter hospital, your Mom came at least once a week, always with some funny stories and jokes, and it brightened the day so much! I will always love her for those visits. On our yearly Morrison walk, she would often set the pace, and then when she couldn’t do the walk, she would be waiting for us with a smile, at the picnic tables, ready for a good visit, and some laughs. She was such a bright light, and we will miss her forever.
Sincerely,
Joanne

I am very sad to hear this news. Lorraine used to love coming to my house for afternoon tea with a few other ladies and she will be very missed, particularly by me. I first met Lorraine several years ago in Stratford, just got talking on the street and when she heard my name she said “Oh, my mother was a Medd”. Turned out she was related to my husband, and we were friends from then on.
