During Gottlieb’s (Gody’s) final moments he was surrounded by his loving family from Switzerland and Canada. Gody appreciated the time to be able to reflect on his personal stories and life achievements. He was assisted with a respectful and peaceful transition at the University Hospital in London Ontario, January 15, 2020.
Born as the eldest son of Walter Anderegg and Rosa Guggisberg in Solothurn, Switzerland, he grew up together with his sisters Ursula and Carmen and his brother Daniel. While growing up with his family; he started schooling in his computer passion; went on long hikes through the local mountains; loved to swim almost daily; went on cycling tours in the Swiss Alps together with his father and supported his mother wherever needed.
In his early twenties, he moved to Canada to follow his passion for computer programming and explore Canada’s unique landscape. While enjoying nature and skiing, in the Rocky Mountains in Canada, Wendy Scraggs entered into his life on a black diamond ski slope. They fell in love and married in Calgary on November 27, 1970 and once again in church, with the whole family, in Switzerland. They were gifted with two daughters, Carolyn and Christina Anderegg. Soon after he fulfilled his dream to own his own property near London/Ontario.
Gody continued to specialize with computers and grew his IT architect skills continuously until retirement. His team members valued his advice, mentorship and ability to solve the most delicate software problems. Alongside his main focus he enjoyed projects on the farm and the nature it provided.
Family members remember Gody as a dynamic, adventurous, caring, curious and a free spirt who was grounded in his own strong opinions. Furthermore, everybody could benefit from his generous and supporting nature.
The funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Little Wood Cemetery in Ilderton, followed by the celebration of life with close family.
