Peacefully at Jessica’s House, Exeter with family by her side, after a lengthy battle with cancer on Thursday, November 11, 2021 of Lucan at the age of 73. Cherished wife of Don “Spud” Appleby for over 53 years. Proud mom of Dale Appleby and Jen Ascon Ramos, and Denise and Jon Brass. Adored grandma of Austin, and Jackson; Hayden, Chloe, and Lily. Dearly missed by Jen Combres. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Carol Andersson (Paul), Sandi MacDonald (Mark), Nancy Bryant (Dave), Linda Raimondo (Ken), Kathy MacDonald (Brian), and Margaret (Appleby) Peckitt. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Bruce and Grace (Hayden) MacDonald.
Sharon had a love of anything crafty or artistic. She loved to volunteer her time doing crafts with seniors or participating in exercise classes with them. Sharon and Spud were very avid campers for many years, often having a seasonal trailer parked somewhere relaxing and peaceful. Together they loved to follow the NASCAR series to various tracks around the United States. Sharon never liked to sit still. She always wanted to be creative with a new craft, helping someone in need, or be spending time with her grandkids.
Keeping with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when friends and family from near and far can gather to share in love, laughter and stories. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan (519-227-4211).
Donations to the Humane Society – London & Middlesex, or Jessica’s House would be appreciated by the family.

Sharon was a one-in-a-million neighbour. She had a fabulous sense of humour, a feisty personality, a great singing voice, and always made me smile if not laugh right out loud. I will always remember the smile on her face in the summer when she exclaimed “You have a Hayden too!” She loved her grandchildren and was so proud of the great little people they are. I’ll miss our conversations over the fence or while solving the world’s problems in the garage. My world is far brighter for having known Sharon. She leaves an indelible mark on us all. May you find comfort in the happy memories and good times you shared. Thinking of you.
