Peacefully, at Exeter Villa, Kenneth W. Baker, formerly of R.R. 2 Dashwood, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Margaret (Wurm) Baker of Exeter and the late Ortha (Schilbe) Baker (1989). Dear father of Kenneth Jr. and Caryl Baker of Goderich, Garry and Sheona Baker of Grand Bend, Sandra and Anthony Regier of Clinton Twp., Mi, Nancy Babich of London and Donna and Michael Yarrow of Guelph and step-father of Gwen and Jim Rohde of Mitchell, Allen and Pat Lawson of St. Mary’s, Kathleen Clarke of Grand Bend and Edwin Lawson and Frances of Arkona. Loving grandfather of Bonnie Baker and John Mulligan, Tracey and John Verbeek, Shellie Chowns and Shawn Green, Jamie Baker and Christina Simpson, Jeff Baker and Kelsey Van Den Heede, Chris and Becky Regier, Heather Regier, Jillian Regier, Sandra Babich, Phillip Babich, Sarah Babich, Emily Yarrow and Adam Hopkins and Ryan Yarrow and 8 great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and the Lawson and Schilbe families Predeceased by his parents Major and Edna (Prance) Baker, sister Lorraine (Roland) Neil, his brother Earl (Minerva) Baker, his son Donald (Sharon) Baker and step son-in-law Elliott Clarke. Ken was a successful farmer, active in the Stephen Twp 4H Club, the Dashwood Men’s Club and proud to have been a school bus driver for many years for Charterways.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Zurich. Pastor Nadine Schroeder-Kranz officiating. Interment in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Zurich.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Steeple Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
