. Maida was a wonderful, kind lady. I got to know her when she moved into Towerview apartments, above my mom and dad(Ross and Irene Haugh). She and dad were cousins.
When I was cleaning out the apartment after my mom passed, Maida brought me lunch from their Friday lunch party. She was very caring We also had several talks while visiting Towerview.
Our sincere condolences to your family.

Maida was instrumental in achieving my goal to become Manager at Conklin Lumber (Exeter) some fifty years ago. I had so much respect for her when she worked with and for me during that time. She made my job easier with her knowledge of all aspects of the business. I was always grateful for her help and guidance. My condolences to her family.

Dear Barry and Family,
I was saddened to learn of your mother’s passing and it is a terrible void for all of you. The Irish have a poem and I hope this brings comfort:
“Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed, and very dear. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

Bryan, Barry, and all of Maida’s many family members and friends,
I am saddened to hear of Maida’s passing, and yet there’s a great smile on my face! I recall all of us little cousins, just a year or so apart in age, running around at family reunions (Larry, Bryan, Sheldon, Honey, Bonnie/Barry, Janice, Jon, Brad…is that the right age order?). What a handful we must have been for Aunt Maida and the other “grown-ups”.
How fortunate Bonnie and I were on our tour of southern Ontario two summers ago to visit with Maida and Barry. She was so very proud to show us photos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. How did she ever keep all of those names and faces straight? What an alert mind, and such a generous spirit she had.
My sincerest condolences to all.

Bryan and Barrie:
We have such fond memories of Aunt Maida from our childhood growing up with you two cousins in Exeter.
It seems so long ago, and so idyllic. She was a big part of the fun family gatherings in the park, with all the relatives.
Remember the great food that she and Aunt Nina and Aunt Marg and our Mom would prepare, and the huge barbecues?
It is a comfort to know that she was in good health until just now…. A great lady !
with deepest sympathies
