Barb and I were fellow members of the Nine Fine Artists of Southwestern Ontario for many years. She was a very fine person and I always enjoyed her company so much. Barb was also a gifted artist and I will continue to cherish my beautiful silver point painting of a moose lying in the grass. I will look at it every day and think of Barb. It will be a lovely way to remember her.

Your mom, wife, sister and friend, Barb, was someone who touched many lives not only through her art but through her work and mentoring. This is how I first met her. Your mom opened her classroom and experiences to me as I trained for a career in ESL. It was a pleasant surprise when, after three years, we found ourselves teaching at the same school. Barb was professional without being aloof and friendly without being intrusive. I admired her very much. It is with great sorrow I share in your own sorrow. She will be missed and, she will be remembered.

Dear Kirk, Chris and Alyssa,
We are so sorry to hear about Barb’s passing. Although we haven’t seen each other much over recent years, we have fond memories.
Barb had an unusual serenity – almost ethereal; you sensed she was dreaming and seeing something that you couldn’t imagine…and then all of a sudden, she chuckled warmly and brought you close.
Your family is surrounded by the love of many – let it help heal your hearts.
Tanis
My prayer for you all. . .
That you might be brave in times of trial
When others lay crosses upon your shoulders
When mountains must be climbed and chasms crossed
When hope can scarce shine through
That every gift God gave you might grow along with you
That you always have a friend that is worth that name
And who helps you in times of sadness
Who will defy the storms of daily life at your side
One more wish for you ‘
That in every hour of joy and pain
You may feel God close to you.
Love always, Tanis

My first contact with Barb came when I needed a supply teacher for my ESL students at Banting Annex. Barb was always happy to take the class and she was my go-to teacher when I needed a sub.
When we finally met face-to-face, I saw what an upbeat person she was. We worked at Lorne Ave. together and it was a genuine pleasure to have her as a co-worker at that site. Her passing is so sad and she will truly be missed by all who knew her in the ESL community. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
