Suddenly at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 a resident of Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall in his 56th year. Beloved son of Susan Blommaert and the late Andrew Blommaert (1990). Husband of Michele Hill. Dear brother of Alison Connolly of Seaforth, Cara Lee Bissonnette of London, and Adam and Holly Blommaert of Exeter. Uncle of Amanda, Daniel, and Braden; Cameron; and Rayne and Asher. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Murray Connolly.
Joe will be fondly remembered for his time assisting with the equipment for the Exeter Hawks, his love of vehicles and Nascar and always keeping the nurses at Queensway on their toes.
The Blommaert family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Dialysis Unit at Victoria Hospital, London and to everyone at Queensway Nursing Home.

Our sincerest heartfelt condolences to all of Joe’s family and friends. His help with the Hawks team was appreciated. Memories of early years come to mind when Joe could show off at the Rec Centre back in the days of roller skating when he would be weaving in between all those who seemed to be standing still compared to his athletic “hotdogging” moves.

With sympathy for your loss. I met Joe at Queensway, when visiting my Mom (Irene Finkbeiner) and we often had a little chat there….starting with one about those tattoos! A very nice man handling difficult health issues with obvious strength…he will be remembered…
