After 96 years of dedication to family and community we are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Clara Margaret Brugger (Nediger) on Friday April 7 th, 2023 at the Bluewater Nursing Home Zurich. Clara was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Brugger (1975), parents Matt and Mary Nediger, brother Austin Nediger, his wife Margret, and sister-in-law Patsy Cartmill. Left to mourn her passing are her two sons Frank and Bob (Shirley) both of Seaforth, Granddaughters Amanda Marshall (Nathan) of St Columbian, Becky Brugger (Jessie) of Stratford, and Grandson Jason Brugger (Kim) of Goderich. Also left to mourn her passing are her six great-grandchildren Corbin (Katie) Marshall, Cohen Marshall, Mckinlee Marshall, Emerson Gowan, Addyson Gowan and Jacob Brugger.
A gentle soul that provided a warm smiling face for many years to the town of Seaforth, Clara will be fondly remembered for her beautiful hand knit sweaters, mittens, and hats which she lovingly bestowed upon her grandchildren. Clara was always up for a good game of hockey, or baseball always cheering for the Maple Leaf and the Blue Jays. She would occasionally find herself as a rider with Frank on the motorbike. Her quiet, warm, welcoming demeaner was inviting to all that knew her. From a trip to the bank, time in the garden, or a home cooked family dinner, Clara provided and set a quiet loving example for all to follow. Thank you to Bluewater Nursing Home in Zurich for their incredible care and time with Clara over the last couple years.
At Clara’s request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held with internment at Maitland Bank Cemetery.
Please make memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Seaforth Community Hospital.
