Peacefully, at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, on Sunday, May 29, 2005, Napoleon Edward Cantin, of St. Joseph, Ont., in his 86th year. Beloved husband and life long partner of Velma Cantin. Dearly loved father of Richard and Judy of Rochester, Mi, Michael and Laura of Waterford, Mi and Robert and Jill of Madison Heights, Mi. Loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Nap is survived by his sister Valerie Schutz and his brothers Pierre and his wife Patricia Cantin and Jean Paul Cantin. Predeceased by his sisters Gabriel Brisson, Yvonne Ducharme, Doris Corey, Theresa Bedard and his brothers Eugene, Oliver, Charles and Andre. Nap will long be remembered for being a noted historian and creator of the St. Joseph Archives. He was also instrumental in the development of the St. Joseph Memorial Park.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 11 a.m. Fr. Francis Thekkumkattil celebrant. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
