Sending our Deepest Sympathy to the Carnochan & Devereaux Families. Bob was always living his life to the fullest. I remember growing up, Bob on one of his many late night drives, driving past our house @ Wilson & Ann St…calling out @ the wee hours of the morning…”good night, Pete & Marg.” My parents always had a good laugh over it!!
My brothers had so much fun growing up with Bob & very welcomed @ the Bannon house! He is someone you will not forget!
Remembering “Sav”… Ann (Bannon) Marchl & Erwin Marchl. Cheers, Bob 🍺
Bob Scanlan
My most sincere condolence to the Carnochan family. His presence in your family will be sorely missed. It was my good fortune to have met and known for a few years while he was a member of Central Region line crew and I was part of Eastern Region lines in the 1980’s. He was a talented tradesman who took pride in his work and took great enjoyment making it fun. Although it’s been many years since I’ve seen him he will always be remembered. Rest in Peace Sav!
Diane Clark
Dear Jess and Megan and families:
Thank you for a wonderful Celebration of Life honouring your father. Bob “Sav”, and his well-lived life. Megan, your speech was articulated beautifully and truthfully. Well done. Loved the slide show.
Bob was such a unique character with an indomitable human spirit and an outgoing personality who had a zest for life. He enjoyed meeting people and tended to greet his friends enthusiastically, either with a grin and a nod, a firm handshake, a big bear hug, a friendly punch or a headlock!
Back in the 70’s, Sav made SDHS an interesting and exciting place to be. He often entertained his classmates with his antics and boisterous sense of humour. His quick wit, sound effects and one-liners certainly cracked us up. There was never a dull moment!
Memories were created wherever Sav went-Teen Town, the Pav in Bayfield, Social Gatherings, the Queens, Country Road Tours. You could hear his engine revving up and brakes squealing down the Main Street from blocks away. He made his presence known.
Throughout the years, it was wonderful whenever we were able to socialize with Jean and Bob. They raised two lovely daughters and adored their grandchildren. Bob and Jean are two beautiful, unforgettable souls.
May all of Sav’s family and friends be comforted at this sad time with the cherished memories made with Bob “Sav” Carnochan. Cheers to our Seaforth legend who will be fondly remembered for years to come . RIP Sav
Deb Gilbert

Sav lived life to the fullest from the time he was a kid playing kick the can in our “baby boomer” neighbourhood, through high school, his working years at Hydro, and his years as a family man. It was great to have him as a friend because you sure wouldn’t want him on the other team! His reputation extended far and wide beyond the boundaries of our community. My university room mates from over fifty years ago still ask, “How’s that Sav guy doing?” Sav made an impression on all. The stories will be retold and memories relived. I trust that the laughter they create will keep the Carnochan and Devereaux families and Sav’s many, many friends strong at this time and for years to come. Cheers Sav!

Such sad news, hearing the passing of Sav. We grew up together as neighbours in Seaforth. What great memories and experiences I have. Bob was always fun to be around, a greeting with a powerful punch to the shoulder, and for the women, he would give a giant bear hug, while picking them up. His power for drawing people to him, and his power in living life. A true legend and a great friend.
Condolences to the Carnochan/Devereaux families.

Truly the loss of a legend. But the legend shall live on through the great stories of “Sav’s” life. I had never met Sav in person until late in my teenage years but had known him well through my fathers telling (George). Whether all the stories were true? I didn’t care. Either way it was a privilege to have met him and continue on a relationship at the tire shop with him. And now I’m also privileged to work with his children. Now United with his brother Bill, I’m sure they are in a bar (up above) with their chin up and backs to the wall! But that might just be another story! 😉. My sincere condolences to the Carnochans and extended families.

He was the best roommate I had in the mid 70’s in London. We had a lot good times. Never a dull moment with Sav.
Rest in peace Bob! You will be dearly missed.

I am very deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bob. I am grateful for every minute I spent with thus guy. If there was ever someone “Larger Then Life”, it was Sav. He may no longer be physically rosming the byways of Seaforth, Bayfield and Huron County, but The Legend will be out there for a long time.
My Condolences To His Family,
R. (Bob) Besterd

Dear Sharon and Family
So very sorry to hear about Bob. Learning to live without him will be very difficult. There is no leaving when a soul is blended with another. Bob will always be present… By learning to live with him in your memories he will always be there.
Please know we are thinking of you.
