John Vos
To the family of Carol Anne;
My condolences in the loss of wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
My name is John Vos, a grade ahead of her in that little one-room school. We lived at lot 4 concession 7 Tuckersmith from &&single&&61 to &&single&&70. I remember her well from nearly 50 years ago till grade 12 but have not seen her since. Heather was a few years younger but I do not remember the rest. However father Doug was well known to our family in corn planting, spraying and as seed corn dealer.
Hearing thru my brother Bert, thru John Swinkels of Bayfield, thru Billy Archibald, I called her by phone in early August 2009, in regards to a school photo she had made copies of, wishing to send to each former school-mate. We talked and shared some memories of our days in # 5 Tuckersmith along with teacher Mrs Anna Dolmage. We also discussed our health status, where by she mentioned her cancer, but did not identify the severity of it. It was in remission or under control she hoped. We talked of her getting the picture to me, either she dropping it off, or me picking it up at her house. Over the next 10 months, until about 3 weeks ago I stopped about five times at the home beside the old school on Morrison road. I never seemed to catch her at home, now I understand why. A neighbour across the road was looking at his drying hay and when asked, told the final story as he knew it.
This makes me realize again that time is but a moment. Best wishes in this bereavement to you all.
Greetings from John Vos (and family) at Sebringville 519-393-6746
