I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Barb’s passing.
I have many great memories of Barb in her younger years. Barb, Clarence and I were in the same class at Lucan High School. I remember in Grade 10 , that Clarence would give his
mischievous, dimpled smile and declare “I’m going to marry you, Barb” and Barb would just laugh and shake her head ( because they were not dating then))
I admired Barb’s strawberry blonde naturally curly hair. Such a pretty girl.
Who could forget the Lucan Parades when Clarence and Barb brought out their decorated Hillbilly car to steal the show. She was a wonderful friend.
The whole community shares your loss. God bless all of your families.
Doug and Elaine Coxon

Thinking of Barb’s entire family,, with all having to come to gripes with the sudden loss of the Matriarch of your family. Barb will always be remembered by those of us who knew her,, as someone who was quick to smile,, who loved to laugh,, and who endeared everyone she met. She will be thought of often by many,, at the multiple functions that she attended and helped out at. I remember well,,, her and Clarence , dancing at the Lucan Community Center, at so many dances over the years. They fit like a glove on the dance floor,, just like they did in their every day life. It must be reassuring to know they will be together once again., making friends with the angels,, and keeping heaven alive with their love and their laughter.

To the Carter Family;
Please accept my very deepest sympathy. I remember Barb, Mrs. Carter to me at that time, from doing a stint as a supply teacher at S.S. #9 Biddulph when I was in about Grade 4. I don’t remember much about what I learned that year but I do remember her smile, her strict but fair way, her calm mannerisms, her organization in teaching all 8 grades at once. She made a good impression on me. Throughout the many following years she remembered who I was and never failed to speak to me. You each were blessed to have her as the matriarch of your family. Thinking of your family. God bless.

Stephen, Wendy, Kevin, Cathy, Joanne, Don, Lisa, Ken & Arden & Families;
Sending our sincere condolences on your loss. My parents and I would have all agreed that Barb and Clarence were the best neighbours they ever had in Clandeboye. I will always remember my daily visits to the Carter General Store which was right next door – Barb was a Grandma to so many of us kids in our little hamlet.
She would take me to the Anglican Church every Sunday so I could attend Sunday School – I was so
honoured and excited that I got to go in her big, cool car. The memories of her and the family in their “Old Beverly Hillbilly’s Truck” in the parade always made me laugh. She would get all dressed up and look the part with all the family.
Whenever I would see her around town: at Brownies – Guide Hall or at Lisa’s for the town wide yard sales she would always stop to visit and catch up. She was always proud to sell me some of her spring flowers.
She was the matriarch of the Carter family and so proud of all of you – telling me stories of where and what everyone was up to. I hope you hold those memories in our heart in the days ahead. Lots of hugs and love to you all.
