After a heroic battle with Cancer Cody in his 21st year passed away at home with his family by his side on Sunday, January 10, 2010. Cody leaves behind his loving parents, Calvin and Suzanne (Mair) Westlake of Kirkton and his three brothers, Sean and his friend Nicole Sharp, Spencer and Carter. Cody also leaves behind “an angel”, his special love, Kelley Nedza of Hensall. Cody will be dearly missed by his many aunts and uncles — Cathy and Bruce Forster, Donny Mair and Allison Barrett, Cindy and Ron Graham, Lorraine and Don O’Leary and Sandra and Steve Meyers all of London; Barbara and Grant Melnick, Brantford; Cheryl and Jim Cornish, Dorchester and Rosemary Mair and friend Sherri Pickering of Ailsa Craig; Grant and Doris Westlake, Noel Westlake, Milo Westlake and friend Ivy Price, Rosemarie Westlake, Floyd Westlake, Mary Westlake, Linda and Wayne Clipperton all of Exeter; Mable and Lloyd Glanville, Brussels, Harold and Ruth Westlake, Dashwood and Josephine and Larry Windsor, Wyoming. Predeceased by Uncle Walter Westlake and Aunt Hilda Westlake of Exeter. Cody will also by missed by his many cousins and special family friends who helped him through his journey these past 18 months. He was predeceased by grandparents Harold and Margaret Mair, London; William and Eileen Westlake, Exeter and Great Gramma Maude Singleton of London.
Cody is a graduate of South Huron District High School in Exeter. He was his happiest when he was surrounded by his wonderful friends who will miss his uplifting spirit and beautiful smile.
Cody received amazing care from Dr. Sanatani, Dr. Dar and Nurse Practitioner Sue Baker at the The London Regional Cancer Centre in London; Megan Ingram, Grace Bradish and the staff at St. Elizabeth Healthcare and also Dr. Davis and staff of Happy Valley Family Health Team in St. Marys.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, one west of Main, Exeter on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held at Exeter United Church, 42 James St., Exeter on Wednesday, January 13th at 11AM with Nancy Wetselaar officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
