COWIE: Catherine (Cathy) Sutherland of London, Ontario, formerly Helmsdale, Scotland

Passed away peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the age of 74. Beloved partner and soul-mate of the late Tim Roberts (2019) for 37 years. Sister of Karen Pirie, and Alexander McDonald. Sister-in-law of Terry Roberts, Colleen Roberts, and Jim Hanlon. Fondly remembered by her close family of David and Margaret Cowie, Billy (deceased) and Isobel Cowie, the late Tommy Cowie, as well as her cousins and extended family in Scotland. A special thanks to Michael Cowie (nephew) and his family for the support he has provided Catherine, especially over the last 10 years when he had the opportunity to visit from Scotland. Catherine will be fondly remembered by her special friend, neighbour, and carer Janet Fairly. Predeceased by her mother, Annie McDonald, Chrissy and David Cowie (granny and grandpa who raised her), Iain McDonald (brother) and sister-in-law Linda Hanlon.

Catherine worked originally in factories when arriving in Canada in 1967 and spent the majority of her life looking after the wellbeing of others as her role as a Care-worker.  She will be sadly missed.

Keeping with Cathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Friday, August 20^th at 10 AM. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, London at a later date. Although the service is private, the family invites you to join with them from the comfort of your home.
